C. StormSense Public Web API URLs
The StormSense Project is an inundation forecasting research initiative partially funded by the National Institute of Standards and Technology to advance the field of emergency preparedness for flooding resulting from storm surge, rain, and tides. The scope of the project encompasses the interests of Hampton Roads local governments wishing to enhance their emergency preparedness via a network of 'Internet of Things' (IoT)-enabled water level sensors, collaborating with the hydrodynamic flood modeling and forecasting capabilities of the Virginia Institute of Marine Science (VIMS) and their VIMS TideWatch Network. Each of the sites listed below are available in a variety of web streaming data formats and possess a unique TideWatch URL, where tidal water level forecast will eventually be presented alongside the ingested water levels from the raw data URLs from each station. In winter 2018, once a sufficient data record is retrieved for these stations, tidal harmonic estimations will be extracted from these sites from the predictor-corrector equation and these sites will begin to report tidal forecasts. Currently each site in the links show observations in blue, and a red line depicting the Monthly Mean (m30) signal.
