    The Office of Inclusive Excellence & Belonging (OIEB) is responsible for creating and supporting an inclusive environment for all students, staff and faculty at the Batten School & VIMS. While prioritizing scientific excellence, the OIEB aids both William & Mary and VIMS missions through efforts to increase access and success, campus climate, education and scholarship, organizational culture and community/educational outreach.

    RAISE Postdoctoral Fellowship

    The goal of the Research, Academic Inclusion, and Scientific Engagement (RAISE) Post-Doctoral Fellowship Program is to create and train the next generation of leading academic faculty. RAISE postdoctoral fellows will receive training in the research, teaching and governance competencies needed to succeed in tenure-track academic faculty positions.

    Dive-In

    Charged since 2016, the Dive-In committee serves the community by collaborating with senior leaders and others to develop programs and events designed to increase a sense of belonging and scientific excellence. Under the direction of the Director of IEB, representatives from across the institute remain informed of community needs and work with the Director and senior leaders to support those needs.

    William & Mary Office of Diversity & Inclusion

    The William & Mary Office of Diversity & Inclusion leads the university’s diversity and inclusion work. William & Mary is committed to creating a community where all members feel a sense of belonging and flourish. This office supports the work of the Batten School & VIMS as well as other units and schools at William & Mary.
